Southern Group Christmas Meal
The Southern Shetland Pony Group lunch was held in the lovely New Forest at Hamptworth Golf Course on Sunday 22nd January. We all enjoyed a lovely carvery, a selection of scrummy puddings followed by tea, coffee & mince pies. A great chance for everyone to catch up without being busy sorting ponies out at shows and it seemed everyone enjoyed themselves. As always we had our raffle with lots of goodies on offer (mainly the poop scoop that everyone wanted but of course Jackie managed to win that!) we managed to raise around £200 for the group.
Show dates for this year will Spring show will be held at Priory Equestrian center, Farnham on Sunday 23rd April. It was decided that our Summer show this year won’t be held at the New Forest show ground (due to last year getting cancelled because the ground needing to be dry for the NF show and having to find another venue last minute) It will be held at Manor Equestrian Centre, Ower where we can have the pick of inside venue or outside. The date is TBC but will be on our website shortly. Autumn show will be held again at Sparsholt, Winchester on Sunday 24th September.
Our Greenhurst Trophy (awarded for an outstanding achievement) was awarded this year to David Hodge & Julian Walters for breeding all three of this year’s supreme champions at our shows:

Autumn Supreme Champion - Sharptor About Anna owned by - E Reed
All in all we had a fantastic meal, caught up with friends old and new and would like to say a huge thank you to all the members for their continued support of the group.
